Concierto en La Buena Ventura

Fantástico el rato en el que Lui’… se quedó solo en el escenario y cantó "Porque sé cual es mi sitio"
(www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvQdJ3Y16Tg&feature=related). Sin duda una declaración de intenciones en la que muchos nos vemos reflejados. Y por supuesto, precioso el guiño a Whitney Houston y su versión de "I will always love you".

NYC – Queens – Long Island City: Silver Cup Studios

Since opening the first studio in what was the former flour silo room of Long Island City’s landmark Silvercup Bakery in 1983, Silvercup Studios has been the largest film and television production facility in New York City.

Silvercup’s Studios has served as currently home to HBO’s The Sopranos and Sex and the City, NBC Universal/Broadway Video Television’s 30 Rock and ABC/Touchstone’s two new shows Knights of Prosperity and Six Degrees. The facility has also hosted QVC’s home shopping channel, Q2, which broadcast live, 18 hours per day. Over 400 hundred commercials are produced annually including campaigns for Wendy’s, Olive Garden, Old Navy, Victoria’s Secret, The Gap, Verizon and MCI. Among the feature films which have been shot at Silvercup are The Devil Wears Prada, Little Children, Meet the Parents, Analyze That, Big Daddy, Little Nicky, Gangs of New York, Mickey Blue Eyes with Hugh Grant, Changing Lanes, Mr. Deeds, Hide & Seek, Stay, and the Night Listener.

Silvercup Studios also provides facilities for still photography including shoots for fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Mirabella as well as The Source and XXL. Annie Liebowitz’s famous cover shot for Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the USA album was shot here. Many music videos have been produced and shot at the studio for artists such as Beyonce, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, Limp Bizkit, George Michael, Nine Inch Nails, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.

The complex comprises a total of 13 shooting stages on its Main Lot (Roof and Loft spaces are also available) located at 42-22 22nd Street in Long Island City, ranging in size from 3,000 to 18,000 ft2 and five 16,000 ft2 studios and one 9,400 ft2 (each with grid heights of 28′) on its East Lot which is located at 34-02 Starr Avenue, in Long Island City.

The Queensboro Bridge was designated a landmark by the New York Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1974.

Bwy/Lafayette FV station – those metal things have glass holes and they illuminated when i came up the stairs and then went out. I stood there for a minute waiting for them to illuminate again but no such luck. I suppose they can sense my illuminating qualities (oooh, yes i did). Or not, and that’s why they turned off (hmph).

So I went to spinning class and the instructor, or rather substitute instructor, did something i’ve never experienced in NYC nor ever want to again. She played Dolly Parton "working 9 to 5" in a slightly sped up work out version with a beat (but still dolly!), Whitney Houston "my love is your love," and a bad rendition of some Belinda Carlisle song… i know in some circles of interest these are really hip songs – but i don’t think they’re hip enough for Matt Damon’s neighborhood.

“You Can Count On Me” dandelion clock macro on white

Shot at night (8.30pm) with a desk lamp for light source.
Very happy to finally get a good macro without a whole lot of noise.
I placed a piece of white paper behind the dandelion clock for the background.

As a child (and to be honest very recently lol) I would blow on the dandelion clock and count how many blows it would take until all the seedpods would fly off the stem.

‘One’ "Two’ ‘Three’ etc. And that’s how they gained the name of ‘dandelion clock’
